Brand Voice &
Founder Storytelling
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
The Process
Before anyone has even written a single word, every brand already carries a voice. It lives in the founder's conviction, in the reason their vision is coming to life at all, in the gap it was built to fill.
My work is to reveal that voice and give it language precise enough to bolster the right message.
Voice is at the heart of most writing issues, whether it's a product page that doesn't sound compelling or a blog article that reads hollow. The brief was followed. The words are correct. Yet something still feels off. Not wrong enough to refuse... but not right enough to use proudly and stand behind. I’m here to reach for what the brand is trying to say, the story that's actually worth telling.
The Voice Within
It usually begins with a conversation. I ask about your brand the way someone who's never heard of it would: what it is, what you want people to feel when they encounter it, what it absolutely isn't. Founders tend to know exactly how their brand feels to them. They just haven't found the words yet.
That's what I'm listening for: the words concealed beneath the emotion.
From there, I write towards what I heard, allowing the prose to take shape in the voice that was there all along.
Emotion Shapes the Prose
In practice, this work takes different shapes. It can be a founding story that needs to exist before anything else can be written, a product range that's grown without a consistent voice holding it together, or a brand that works beautifully in one language but loses something essential in the other…
What comes out the other side is writing that sounds unmistakably like you — specific enough to be recognised, yet flexible enough to travel across formats, languages, and time.
